After each use of the folk costumes they are being washed, ironed, folded and stored in a particular way. Various traditional arts and skills are being applied during that process. Maintenance is done manually, mechanically or chemically.

Incorrect handling can cause damage. Certain operations in the reconstruction processes are performed with the help of colleagues on site or professional craftsmen. The collection disinfection is carried out regularly.

I the restoration workshop damaged traditional folk costumes and textiles are being professionally protected and regenerated. The modern museum and restoration methods are being applied in order to restore and protect the items according to the rules of the profession.

Notable results were achieved in restoration projects of costumes from the collections of Croatian museums (Museum of the City of Vukovar, Museum of the City of Ilok, the Ethnographic Museum of the City of Split, City Museum Vinkovci, Museum of Slavonia in Osijek, Museum of Đakovština, Museum of Knin, Museum of the City of Koprivnica, Museum in Obrovac, Museum of the City of Senj, Museum of the City of Subotica, etc.).
